Conservation Affairs Committee
The Colorado Chapter of The Wildlife Society's Conservation Affairs Committee (CCTWS CAC) serves to elevate and advance sound wildlife management and conservation policies in Colorado. The CCTWS CAC functions as part of a network of TWS CACs working on policy issues at the national, regional, and local level.
We aim to 1) track policy issues affecting wildlife in Colorado, and 2) respond to and advance key wildlife policy issues for the benefit of wildlife and wildlife professionals in Colorado.
Central to these goals is using this committee effectively to solicit information and feedback from those working with wildlife in Colorado every day. Or in other words, YOU! We recognize that engaging in policy issues can be both mystifying and overwhelming, but your voice matters and we look forward to hearing both your thoughts and perspectives, especially when a policy issue arises that aligns with your expertise.
To aid in these goals, our quarterly newsletters cover:
-
State-level action: a summary of bills, ballot measures, and other policy items affecting wildlife in Colorado.
-
Federal action: a summary of bills, administrative actions, and other policy items affecting wildlife nationally.
-
Policy engagement opportunities: an overview of opportunities to actively engage in policy issues and key areas where your voice can be added to impact wildlife conservation.
Engagement in policy issues affecting wildlife is now more important than ever. The CCTWS is well positioned to be a powerful force guiding wildlife conservation into the future, and we sincerely appreciate your engagement, questions, and concerns around each of the issues we bring forward.
